Jxl-069 (also known as PP405) is a small-molecule investigational compound being developed for the treatment of hair loss disorders, including androgenetic alopecia. It functions as a potent and selective inhibitor of the mitochondrial pyruvate carrier (MPC), which shifts cellular metabolism toward oxidative phosphorylation and enhances the bioenergetic capacity of hair follicle stem cells. By reactivating dormant hair follicles and promoting their transition into the anagen (growth) phase, PP405 offers a novel mechanism distinct from conventional androgen- or growth factorbased therapies. Currently in clinical development, it represents a promising topical candidate for stimulating hair regrowth with a potentially favorable safety profile.
