N-Acetyltaurine is an acetylated derivative of taurine, a sulfur-containing amino acid found abundantly in mammalian tissues. It is formed endogenously through the acetylation of taurine, primarily in the liver and kidneys, and is also a minor metabolite of taurine in humans.
